Instagram 2023: What you need to know

Instagram never stops innovating. The social media with over a billion users is a favorite among many creators due to its multi-platform capability for publishing content.

However, not everything has been successful. A few months ago, users began expressing their discontent through the platform because the algorithm was favoring the Reel video format as the main content in an app that was initially focused on photos.

In response to this, Instagram's CEO, Adam Mosseri, stated through his profile that more videos than photos could be seen because they were offering higher engagement, but they were working to find the best way to balance it.

In the meantime, the app is receiving updates in other areas. Here are the most relevant changes:

More collaborators: With this update, you can create posts in collaboration with two more people. In other words, three people can be authors of published content, benefiting audience exchange and reach.

Notes: Now you can create notes to share ideas or thoughts with a specific group of users. Generate more interaction through direct messages with this feature.

Broadcast Channels: Invite your followers to participate in a private space. You can send messages, images, or polls. In this feature, only creators can write and send content.

Instagram Groups: With this functionality, you can share content with specific users and generate conversations about a particular topic.

Insights: Check likes, comments, and shares directly on each post.

Paid subscription (Meta Verified): Prioritize comments, get the verification badge on your account, or receive personalized customer support for a fee ranging from 10 to 20 USD.

Music in Carousels: You can now add music to your posts. Take advantage of trending audio for this feature.

Coming Soon (some users may not have these functions yet):

Templates in your Stories: Create more dynamic and engaging stories with this feature, which resembles Reels editing.

AI-Powered Chat: This feature is in testing and will allow you to connect with your customers at any time through AI-generated responses.

Image and video editor: Without leaving Instagram, edit your photos and videos with the help of Artificial Intelligence.

Be yourself: A feature is coming to let you show yourself as you are. Candid stories will remind you of BeReal. Are you up for sharing a spontaneous photo right now? That's what it's all about.
